PURPOSEFUL GROUP, 2019 ANNUAL REVIEW

 Last year was an eventful year for Purposeful Group (formerly Purposeful Products).
I'd like to say a huge thanks to all the clients we worked with in 2019, it was an a pleasure to work and collaborate with some amazing pre-accelerators, accelerators, universities and enterprise hubs, and other organisations supporting entrepreneurship, along with an incredibly diverse and impressive range of founders.

In 2019 we:

• Gave talks at events and appeared on panels on topics of technology and entrepreneurship
• Ran workshops and programmes at numerous sites to support tech startup founders creating web and mobile apps from scratch
• Grew our international community from zero to over 1,200 tech founders, technologists and investors
• Worked with startups and small business owners on 5 continents
• Worked with numerous organisations supporting young people (15-24 years) interested in embarking on journeys in STEM careers or entrepreneurship
• Were proud to do pro-bono work with some fantastic charities, including The Winch and the Us Programme to support people from under-represented and disadvantaged groups
• Attended London's City Hall on multiple occasions to take part in mentoring initiatives, including the London Business Roadshow event, organised by Enterprise Nation
• Collaborated on projects funded by the British Library, the European Institute of Innovation & Technology, and the Mayor of London
• Introduced, and connected people like crazy, with several young entrepreneurs that we referred to Hackathons going on to win prizes!
• Grew our revenue by more than 350%

 
In 2019, we launched our international Community and Centre for Learning for non-technical founders, our Tech Academy™ business school offering professional guidance to tech startups, and had over 100 software entrepreneurs progress their businesses with our tech specific workshops and programmes during our pilot phase, with more entrepreneurs giving our content an excellent rating than any other score.
 
We are recognised and registered as a provider of adult learning and education. Our content has also been certified, and we are able to offer accredited diplomas to entrepreneurs that wish to have an official record of their learning.
 
In November 2019 our CEO & Founder, Kay Kukoyi CSM FITOL, a software delivery specialist, global tech startup mentor, speaker, author, and lecturer was recognised by the Financial Times, Inclusive Boards and Tech Alliance on the #IB100 list of the 100 Most Influential BAME Leaders in the UK Technology Sector.

In 2019, Kay also had the honour of being a grand finals judge at the national pitch TATA Varsity Pitch competition, deciding the winner of a £15,000 equity-free prize along with Tim Jones CBE - Executive Director of Tata Ltd, and Angelica Malin Editor-in-Chief of About Time Magazine and Founder of the About Time Academy.
